A very fine quality, late 18th century flintlock holster pistol by Ketland. Superb scroll engraved lock signed Ketland, with slide safety. 15 inches over all with a 9 inch octagnal swamped barrel and silver forend site. The barrel stamped with proofs and the Londonderry registration marks, L - Y 4550. The mounts are of pakton, with a well engraved long eared butt cap. Original ramrod. The very well engraved escutcheon has the initials JB under an eagle crest, this is probably for the Browne family of Ireland. This is a very nice piece, some light nocks,ware and restorations.
