An excellent 1803 Pattern British Infantry Officers Sword. 33 inches over all with a well engraved, blue and gilded tapering curved blade, double edge to the tip. The hilt is in very good condition, with the GR cypher and the lions head pommel, showing 100% of the original gilding. The shagreen grip has a small amount of ware, with one loose binding wire. The right hand side of the blade retains 99% of it's blue and gilding and the left about 85%. Some small minor areas of surface rust. This is a very good period sword.
